How the marker works

Magnetic markers consist of particles carrying a controlled and defined magnetic behavior. Unlike ordinary magnets, these particles have a subtle signature revealed only by a specific measurement method. The signature is defined by the shape of the particle's response to a magnetic field, and this response is tuned separately for each brand. The most notable advantage of magnetic markers is that they can be read contactlessly. The reader can detect the magnetic signature passing through the material without touching the product and without opening the packaging. This property makes the marker especially suitable for high-speed production and packaging lines; every unit is verified as it passes without interrupting the flow of the line. The particles are mixed at a low ratio into the product matrix or packaging material and leave no visible trace on the product. The magnetic signature is unaffected by ordinary conditions such as temperature and humidity; this makes the marker reliable in products with a long shelf life and in demanding distribution conditions. Verification is done by comparing the measured magnetic response against the reference value.

HOW IT IS APPLIED

Integration into the production line

The marker is brought into service in three steps without rebuilding the existing production flow.

Adding to the material

Magnetic particles are mixed homogeneously into the product matrix or packaging material during the production stage.

Contactless reading

A sensor placed on the line reads each unit through the packaging. The product does not need to be opened or the line slowed down.

Matching and approval

The measured magnetic response is compared against the reference signature, and the match is recorded in the batch record.
